Salem Ward Drill Team

For the 24th of July parade, our ward's Young Men formed a "Drill Team". (Notice the drills in the boys' hands). They invited a few extra kids, the missionaries, and any leader that was willing. The Young Mens' President had his wife choreograph a simple routine and a few (and I mean a few) practices later, they were ready. They marched down main street to the tune of "Life is a Highway", while performing their routine. It involved lots of flexing, the macarena and a "gun battle". Now I am certainly biased, but I thought it was quite clever and possibly the hit of the day. One of my friends even commented that she felt badly for the politician behind the boys because everyone was watching tthe drill team and never noticed the candidate behind them. The boys seemed to have fun, and I even noticed Cade winking at the spectators as he danced by.

It looks like fun! We were in Greer and missed all the festivities. Cord thinks the idea is pretty funny!

They had a sucker with ribbon stuck into the end of their drills so that when they spun they looked pretty! (ha).

Marcie! I am glad to see you that caved and joined the blogging world! Now if you can only get my sister to do it I will be really impressed!
I think this was a clever idea for the boys. That is great that they even agreed to do it. You must have a cool son! Wish I could have seen it. I always miss all the fun things in St. Johns!

Rachel! I must admit, I really like this blogging thing. Ryan even likes to read it just to catch up on what I am doing :-) As far as Kir. . .I can't even get her to check her email on a regular basis. But when I told her about my blog-and she quit laughing at me-she had somethings we should add to mine. So maybe she can be a guest blogger.

Cheering From the Sidelines

In January, I was asked to write an article for a blog about St. Johns.  The blog is kind of a cross between missionary work and a celebrati...
