Tuesday morning Lauren, Syd and I joined with the other geeks to be the first ones into the new library. Yes, there was a line. We (all ten of us) rushed the door like Walmart shoppers on the day after Thanksgiving.
OK, not really, but it was more exciting.
The library has been closed since February while they moved from the old location (across the street from my house) to the new location (still across the street, but around the corner now).
What a perfect way to start my "grand" summer vacation!
My other "grand" news is that Ryan and I got plane tickets to visit my sister in Alaska. We will leave on July 23 and come back on July 31. At least I think we will be come back. You never know, Ryan may just buy a house and send for the kids later....
PS: In other library news, as I was browsing the aisles on that first day, I turned around to see my nephew, Levi, there. He rode his bike down for the big morning. Way to go Levi-I love a readin' kid.

That is a happy day. I can't wait for our new library to be built -- but construction won't even start until the end of the year. Did you find anything good?
Your Alaska trip sounds great! Especially with out kids! I look forward to seeing the pictures.
Ha~ We have been there THREE times since it opened. I told Levi that morning to wait and I'd take him with the girls, but he couldn't. He just had to get on his bike and head over! The poor kid had called them for MONTHS and MONTHS asking when they'd be open. What a great way to start off the week. Mimi was so proud to get her own card! WooHoo!
By they way... this morning they had a table FULL of books for sale... Hardbacks are 25¢ and Paperbacks are 10¢. What a deal! I bought two... Some Louis L'amour book for Quinn and one for me called Eat Cake. :)
My kids have been dying to go, but being the mean mom I haven't taken them yet. Maybe we'll go now.
My kids were so excited, too! It's a nice library. But, does it seem to have fewer books to you? weird?
